How We Grade and Test Used Batteries in Our Refurbished Devices
All batteries supplied with our refurbished laptops and tablets are tested in-house using our own purpose-built discharge software. This ensures every battery meets a minimum standard before it’s approved for use in a customer device.
Rather than relying on system-reported health estimates or basic utilities, we apply a controlled and repeatable stress load to each machine. This allows us to measure actual discharge duration in a consistent test environment. The results are then used to grade the battery and determine whether it meets our performance criteria for resale.
Batteries that pass are then automatically recharged to 50% before storage. This protects the long-term health during storage and transit, preventing unnecessary degradation so you receive a battery that’s tested and well-preserved.
Most customers find our tested batteries reliable for everyday use, including diagnostics, workshop tasks, and light field work. For longer runtime, mobile deployments, or power-sensitive applications, we offer optional brand-new battery upgrades. These provide maximum capacity and are typically covered by the manufacturer with a 12-month warranty.
Some rugged devices also support dual-battery or hot-swap configurations. If you need extended power for remote work, contact our team, and we’ll help configure the right setup for your use case.
